Just when you thought you were out of that cold and biter Phoenix valley area winter season – bam! – you’re hit with another wave of cool. We’re referring to the fourth annual Tempe Bicycle Winter Games of course.

Get your body armor on and your health insurance renewed – once again we’ll be practicing the time honored brutal tradition of princess bike death races, slow ride, figure 8 races and more.

Starting at 11, get your Winter Games on in Clark park, just across the street from Boulders.

We’re pleased to present TBAG’s annual Holiday Lights Ride for your very own entertainment! Deck the bikes with boughs of holly, tinsel, bells, ribbons and lights. Wear your favorite ugly sweater and pack your thermoses with mulled cider and hot chocolate. We’re going to take a tour of Tempe and Scottsdale neighborhoods, check out the holiday decorations and rock out at that one house with the Electric Light Orchestra synchronized light show.

We’ll be meeting at the Tempe Beach Park entrance, as usual. Hope to see you there!

I say mate, ain’t it time for a night out on the town in our finest and what what? Come join TBAG once again for one of our most popular cruises, the tweed ride.

Meet us at the corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue in Tempe Beach Park where you can pose for a pic. Then we’ll bike off for a jolly good time in the finest pubs in town.

Don’t know what to wear? You poor blighter. Well let us enlighten you to the fashionable choices for the evening.

Bowlers, pleated skirts, course knits, pipes, woolen trousers, suspenders and bow-ties are what’s hot for the evening. Show up for a pint in your spandex and you might as well have shown up in your skivvies.

As always, the ride will be frightfully easy, so all birds and mates of any skill level are welcome to attend for a smashing good time.

Mark your Calendars! Tempe Tour de Fat is October 3rd

It’s coming! The largest bike party in Tempe is coming to Tempe Beach Park Saturday October 3rd.  Request the day off work and start getting your costume ready.

Last year, the Tour de Fat raised $95,000 for local Arizona nonprofits like TBAG, Bike Saviours and the Mountain Bike Association of Arizona. This year, let’s make it even bigger!

Join the event on facebook to get the latest updates on the event and keep an eye on the blog for volunteer info.

This is the ONLY reason to leave the house in the summer.

On the HOTTEST day of the year, we celebrate by riding bikes to different stops.

– Riding, then jumping into, multiple pools and fountains
– MASSIVE water balloon fight in the park
– Slip n’ Slide at Birchett park

Then we end the festivities off with an amazing pool party. Lather on the sunscreeen, don your most colorful swimwear, and help us Keep Tempe Hot by staying so, so cool.

Grow it out, stick it on, or doodle on your upper-lip ‘do, just don’t come to TBAG’s annual Mustache Ride without a sweet ‘stache. You can make it out of all natural fibers, pipe cleaners, felt, fleece, or permanent marker, just as long as your face furniture stands out loud and proud.

So fluff up your fu manchu, primp your pencil ‘stache and give Hasselhoff a run for his money. This nighttime ride is a chance for all cyclists, young and old to take their whiskers on a tour of the finest drinking establishments in Tempe.
