Carol-ing, carol-ing through the Hood, to Grandmother’s house we ride. Cause Granny likes to spike the cider with homemade hooch, from what we’ve heard.

TBAG Second Saturdays presents the annual Holiday Lights Ride on Saturday December 8th.

SurlyGirl Crafts

When: Saturday 12/8 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Tempe Beach Park, NW corner of Rio Salado and Mill Ave
How Much: FREE

It meets, as always, at the entrance of Tempe Beach Park, NW corner of Rio Salado and Mill Avenue in Tempe. Because of the early sunset we will MEET at 6:30pm and the ride will DEPART by 7pm.

First on the List is a beachside viewing of the Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade at Tempe Town Lake. Then the ride will wind through neighborhoods and look at the pretty (or corny) seasonal light displays.

Wear something warm, preferably red and trimmed in white fur. Trim your bike with tinsel and jingle bells. After our cheeks grow nice and rosy, we’ll end our ride at Papago Brewing Company for wassail.

Bring on the holiday spirit! And bring LIGHTS and LOCKS.

0001! Bleep blorp. Droids unite!

This Tempe Bicycle Action Group Second Saturday ride isn’t for the flesh bags that now think they control the planet, but for us robots who truly hold all the controls.

On this night, wear your nuts, bolts and brackets with pride!

At 7:30 p.m on Nov. 10, meet up at the spot where those bags of guts often gather, Tempe Beach Park. From there we’ll take Tempe by storm and lubricate our gears with the liquids produced from hops, wheat and yeast, which man calls beer.

Since many of us can’t simply transform and roll out, just grab a two-wheeled vessel the mortal ones deem “bicycles” and join the metal head revelry. All skill levels welcome.

Feeling like a can of rusty bolts and need some ideas on how to shine up for this glorious event? Try cutting some creative patters in cardboard and covering it with tinfoil, or cutting pieces of insulated pipe. Or copy our friend who often bikes through Mill Ave. and start collecting hundreds of aluminum can tabs.

Come join in the robot revolution!

When: Saturday Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Tempe Beach Park Entrance. Mill and Rio Salado

TBAG Second Saturday Zombie Ride on Saturday, October 13 at 7:30 pm

Meet at TBAG Bike Valet, main entrance to Tempe Beach Park, Rio Salado & Mill Ave in Tempe. Park your bike at the valet (don’t forget your claim ticket!) then creep around till the horde gathers.

The Zombie Mob will stumble, slither and drag their morbid remains in a parade through the Tempe Oktoberfest main concourse, returning to the Bike Valet by 8:15pm.

Bikes will line up, pointed West on Rio Salado, out of the way of automobile traffic and pedestrians. After all Zombies are mounted, the Ride will progress clockwise from Tempe Center For the Arts, over the Pedestrian Bridge, around the lake and over Mill Ave Bridge before continuing to the first stop, Handlebar & Grill at 680 South Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ. (480) 474-4888

Tempe Oktoberfest is a fundraising event in support of Tempe Sister Cities, a non-profit organization. ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL will be condoned. If you intend to drink inside the Festival, be prepared with your ID and cash. It’s strongly recommended to arrive early and get your wristband before the Crawl/ Ride commences.

trailer trash barbieFluff up the mullet, shine your gold tooth and rustle up your jumpsuit. Tempe Bicycle Action Group is once again giving you a reason to get off that couch you have on your front lawn. This is going to be better than the time you made out with your cousin – it’s the white trash Second Saturday ride, Aug. 11.

Join your fellow stained and smelly wife-beater-wearing compadres at 7:30 p.m. in Tempe Beach Park. From there, we’ll be swilling cans of Bud, comparing teeth (last year’s winner had three teeth, two in his pocket) and checking out the daisy duke cutoffs in the trash-friendly dives of Tempe. Maybe later we’ll do some gator wrestlin and watch re-runs of that time uncle Jeff got on COPS. Man I love that episode.

Ain’t no fancy affair, so any and all are welcome to come.

Where: Meet at Tempe Beach Park entrance: the northwest corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue in Tempe. Here’s where this ol’ Trailer Court Tour is going to take us… First we’ll get some border grub and watered down drinks at Rocky Point Cantina. THEN, we’ll cruise into the neighborhood of kissin’ cousins Apache Palms RV Park & Pony Acres Mobile Home Park for a stop at TEMPE TAVERN. After winning a bar fight (cuz they was eyeballin’ Miley’s blinged-out daisey dukes) we’ll be scootin’ along to STRAY CAT Bar & Grill (you know the one, it’s next to Tempe Cascade Estates & Montecito Estates) ‎… and when we finally had enough of Kid Rock on the juke box, we’ll make a last stop at the WAFFLE HOUSE where they hopefully have added tater tot casserole & fried bologna to the menu.

When: Saturday, Aug. 11, 7:30 p.m. Ride will leave at 7:45 p.m.

Cost: Free to ride.

Wish you could relive the sweaty-palmed dance, the oddly posed photos, the drama and excitement of your first prom? This may not be the prom for you.

This go around, prom will be less about getting a pink blush on your cheeks after your first kiss, and more about keeping your rotting body parts from falling off.

May 12, the Tempe Bicycle Action Group’s Second Saturday ride will be infected by the Vegan Zombie Beer Club in all their undead glory.

Get out that rotting old tux and taffeta dress, and give your maggot-eaten face a shine – the ghouls are hitting the town!

Meet other festively dressed corpses at 7:30 p.m. in Tempe Beach Park, on the northwest corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway. Photographers will be on hand for pics with props and a backdrop for your dead heart to dote on for eternity. Then the ghoulish party will set off on bicycles to the fine drinking establishments of Tempe.

All cyclists are invited. Please RSVP to the Facebook event at the Tempe Bicycle Action Group Facebook page.
