While most parts of the country have discussions on winter biking, we discuss summer. Keep yourself cool and hydrated!

Wet jersey = evap cooling

Last week I had run out of clean jerseys and neglected to put my wash load into the dryer before I went to bed. I pulled a damp jersey out of the washer in the AM, put it on, and went about my commute. The evaporative cooling effect was pretty nice.

I know that back when I played paintball, one of the tricks we had was to soak a hankerchief/neckerchief in ice water and tie it around your neck, with the large folded part at the back of the neck. There are major veins/arteries there, and the evaporative cooling hits the blood hard, affecting most of your body. It requires refreshing after more than 45 minutes, but by then you want to be out of the heat for a while anyways.

They also sell special versions of that, which absorb large amounts of water and hold it for long periods of time. Great stuff.

By wearing wet jersey enjoy the moment of coolness in summer. When sometimes our clothes have not been dried perfectally after wahsing and we must have to wear it for some reason especially in summer then we feel very good. This thing happen with me many of the time because of my irregularity.
