Last night’s “Portland’s Worst Bike Routes” was just that. A couple of friends, two of the more experienced bike advocates in the area, took us on a 2 hour ride through the downtown area to experience the dead-ends, rails, and stair-laden commuter routes that would convince almost any cyclist to give up. Spending time on 55 mph roads with interstate ramps was fun, but not as much as the broken glass fields we were able to ride though. In reality, it was about as challenging as trying to ride a few miles through Mesa. Sure, it was bad, but nothing compared to Southern. Nothing is as bad as Southern through Mesa.

So Pedalpalooza continues, and the Sprockettes host the dance ride tomorrow night. The Sprockettes are touring with Tour de Fat this summer, so if you haven’t seen them, come October you’ll know what I’m talking about.
