What: Save some bike chain grease for your whiskers this March, when Tempe Bicycle Action Group will be celebrating the fur that has graced the upper lip of many great men (and women!) throughout history: the moustache.
So fluff up your fu manchu, primp your pencil ‘stache and give Hasselhoff a run for his money. This nighttime ride is a chance for all cyclists, young and old to take their whiskers on a tour of the finest drinking establishments in Tempe.

Banish the spandex and don your most dapper casuals for the return of the Tweed Ride, an evening adventure of woolen skirts, bucket hats, and sport coats on Saturday Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. starting at Tempe Beach Park.
Tempe Bicycle Action Group welcomes riders of all types and skill levels to wear their favorite woolens skirts, capes, shawls, tweed jackets, caps, and knickers on this fine night of cycling and style. Cyclists will meet at the entrance to Tempe Beach Park for photos and to show off their style at 5:30 p.m. Following the meet and greet, riders will be off to show off their herringbone, twill, plaid and checkered styles with class at the finest Tempe drinking constabularies.
- Where: Tempe Beach Park on the northwest corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway.
- When: Saturday Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Ride at 6 p.m.
- What: A fine night of cycling and style at the classiest public houses of Tempe.
- Cost: The ride is free!
TBAG’s monthly social bike rides will now be held on the Second Saturday of every month.

This nighttime ride is hosted by Tempe Bicycle Action Group, a nonprofit organization working to make bicycling a prominent, safe and convenient form of transportation and recreation in Tempe, Arizona and surrounding areas through education, grassroots events, and civic participation.

Friday Oct. 1 – Sunday Oct. 3
For the third year, Tempe Bicycle Action Group hosts a free ‘bike valet’ – a secured and monitored bicycle parking area at Tempe Beach Park during the Tempe Oktoberfest celebration. The community service is free – but we need your help to run it. No experience needed!
What do you do? Simple enough: Park & watch the good people’s bikes in shifts throughout the weekend and earn free beer tickets and tokens!
There are 4 shifts needed on Friday, 7 on Saturday, and 4 on Sunday. We need a minimum of 3 volunteers per shift per day, but as many as 6 for the peak times – afternoons and closing time, so sign up for several and invite all your friends to help!

Yes that’s right folks, Tour de Fat is less than two short months away and we need YOUR help as a volunteer! Thousands of bicycle loving folk will begin arriving to Tempe Beach Park around 9am to celebrate the highest form of transportation known to man, the mighty bicycle! Help us make 2009′s Tempe Tour de Fat the most successful one yet! New Belgium donates all profits to local groups such as Tempe Bicycle Action Group and The Mountain Bike Association of Arizona.
In exchange for your time you shall receive not only good karma, but a beer token and a Tour de Fat t-shirt. Available shifts are listed below and are first come / first served. To reserve your spot please find the contact information listed below. TBAG and New Belgium thanks you!

To sign up to be a volunteer for Tour de Fat please send an email to: tour...@biketempe.org. When sending us an email, please be sure to include the shift, your name, phone number, T-shirt size (and Mens or Womens cut), your TIPS # if you attended TIPS training in the past (good for 3 years) as well as previous Tour de Fat volunteer experience (example: Beer Booth 2008). You may work multiple shifts if desired.
