Tempe Tour de Fat Countdown

Is everyone excited about the Tour de Fat?! Now that you know exactly how long until the Tempe Tour de Fat kicks off, here are some of the great events that we have lined up this week leading up to the big event:

Tuesday 10/5 – C.R.A.P. Ride (Car Resistance Action Party)

It’s the FOUR-year anniversary of the CRAP ride! Meet at Tempe Beach Park Entrance at 7:30 pm, ride at 7:45. Ride wil go to Sleepy Dog to celebrate. All types of bikes and skill levels are welcome for this social ride.

CHANGE OF DATE Thursday 10/7 – New Belgium at Casey Moore’s

The New Belgium crew will be at Casey Moore’s from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. They’ll have drink specials all evening on New Belgium beers and a bike giveaway at 8:30 pm. Ride your bike to this great neighborhood bar.

Thursday 10/7: Ride the Divide Movie

Ride The Divide is the award-winning feature-length documentary about the world’s toughest mountain bike race, which traverses over 2700 miles along the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains. The film weaves the story of three characters’ experiences with immense mountain beauty and small-town culture as they attempt to pedal from Banff, Canada to a small, dusty crossing on the Mexican border. Tickets are $12 and showtime is at 7:30pm at the Madcap Theaters.

Friday 10/8: Pedals and Pictures Movies

A double feature at Madcap Theaters – “RAD”, the 1986 bmx cult classic & “I Got Work Strikes Back”, a full length film featuring some local riders. Bike valet sponsored by Kore Bikes. Tickets are $5 and showtime is at 7:00pm. This event is 18 and over.

Friday 10/8: March Fourth Marching Band
March Fourth Marching Band is having a concert at The Sail Inn. Tickets are $12 at the door. THese guys will also be performing at the Tour de Fat on Saturday.

Saturday 10/9: Tour de Fat, Tempe Beach Park, 9 am – 4 pm

And as if you needed another reminder: One of the biggest, most exciting bicycling events in the state. Bikes, Bands, Beer, a huge party to celebrate the bicycle. Thanks to all who have volunteered to help out, and we hope the rest of you make it out to celebrate with us! Bring your friends, your relatives, you co-workers, bring everybody! All proceeds go to TABG and other local cycling advocacy groups. A special note – encourage families to come out for the bike parade and join the celebration in our newly introduced kids’ area, which opens at 9.
