Upcoming Rides: Farmer’s Market and Cupcakes

Things are hopping these days! Here are two upcoming rides that I’ll be leading, so mark your calendars now. These will both be leisurely rides open to all kinds of bicyclists.

Saturday, October 4, 7 am, Tempe Beach Park
: Ride to the Downtown Phoenix Farmer’s Market.
This ride is 9 miles one way. Bring cash to buy things at the Market. We could also arrange to stop for breakfast if there’s interest (Matt’s Big Breakfast, Tammie Coe Cakes, or…).

Saturday, October 18, 10 am, Tempe Beach Park: Cupcake Ride, destination TBA
.
Saddle up for another cupcake expedition! Depending on interest, we can go back up to Sprinkles (9 miles) or to Lulu’s (4 miles and a local business). Let me know your destination of choice in the comments!

  1. Dani:

There *might* be. If there is, we’ll meet at 5th and Mill at 6, to arrive downtown at around 7. I’m not sure yet if I’m going to go and don’t want to commit and then have to back out. But if there’s enough interest a group should go!

    Chris: Thanks!

  2. While I firmly believe Lulu’s is better than Sprinkles, the distance is a bit short. On the ride I org. for Sept 20th we biked to Goldman’s Deli. 10 miles from TBP, but all greenbelt paths. Maybe lunch there and a stop at Lulu’s on the way back?

  3. Tom, that’s a pretty good idea. We might wait and see who wants to go for the ride and then decide on the nature of the ride based on the crowd. I’m thinking we could even put together a laid-back casual group (just up to Lulu’s) and a distance-enthusiast group (up further and back).

  4. my 2 year old daughter and I were fortune to experience from the front of our home the tour de fat on Saturday. She was very excited with all the costumes and elaborate style bicycles. Which lead me to this website and wanting to participate in these rides.

I look forward to more info on the cupcake ride on the 18th as well as other rides and info on biking.
    thanks!
