Tour de Fat volunteer sign up is open!

As you know, the event is run by volunteers and all proceeds go directly to the Tempe Bicycle Action Group, Bike Saviours Bicycle Collective, the Mountain Bike Association of Arizona, and the Central Arizona Mountain Bike Patrol and others.
Volunteer are an indispensable part of the success of Tour de Fat. They make sure everyone had a great time and could share their love of bicycles.
The event in Tempe is one of the largest on New Belgium’s tour. We drew over 10,000 people last year, and we need about 300 volunteers to ensure that the event goes smoothly. As a volunteer you’ll get 2 free beer tokens & a volunteer t-shirt. Plus, it will be fun!

Have 15 year-old daughter and friends who need to provide volunteer services for Health Class (8 hours this 1/2 semester and 1/2 next 1/2 semester). What volunteer positions would be appropriate for such youths?
There are three jobs that I can think of for the youths.
First is water distribution, we’re trying to figure something out with hand carts so we can get the water out to people in the crowd.
Second is volunteer care. We’re putting a team together to make sure the volunteers get some food and water during their breaks, a couple local restaurants will be donating food we need to store and serve it following health code regulations.
Third is volunteer check in. The volunteer coordinators, Jenn and Marci, might be able to use some help getting everyone checked in and getting them they’re lanyards and t-shirts.
