another side note.
DC just started its rown bike sharing service.
The D.C. program (and similar ones in Europe) are very cool. Here’s the article:

I was just in DC before the launch, very poorly timed, I would have thoughtlessly spent $40 for the yearly subscription fee so I could bike around while I was there for business.
Program looks cool, their site has a custom Google map showing availability of bikes for rental and availability of return slots at each location.
